JEFBOT 3.0!

jefbot-3-0

Witness this armed and fully operational website! It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. Read on.

Note a few improvements over the old website, like how easy it is to navigate through back issues of the comic now, either by clicking on the arrows to the top right of the comic or by clicking the “archive” link below the title. Also, there was some confusion with the old site since the comic commentary wasn’t linked directly to the comic. That has been rectified. Some have also expressed disappointment that since the launch of the webcomic, I’ve abandoned my blog posts. Well, rest assured, my blogs about all the silly, meaningless minutiae you’ve come to expect from me, including updates on my journey through Hollywood and all the reports on Giant Squid (ah, Architeuthis, you vex me so!) sightings you’ll ever need, shall commence once again.

I have to take a moment to thank Mr. Matthew Arevalo, who either saw potential and something he liked in the JEFBOT strip, or just took pity on it and decided to throw some charity my way – regardless, he has graciously donated server space to host the webcomic you see before you, and for that and all his help getting the new JEFBOT site up, I am grateful. Thanks, Matthew.

So that’s about it. I’ll continue to work on this site so expect new features in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy the new space and email me if you find any glitches or have any suggestions for improvements.

JEFbot 4.0

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Welcome to the new and improved JEFbot.com!

This is the fourth major update to the website since I launched it as a meager blog a few years ago (I know at least a few of you remember those days). The site and the strip have come a long way since then and both have needed some important upgrades since 3.0 went online last year. There are a couple more tweaks that need to be done and a couple more pages that need to be completed (e.g. the “new readers” page), but once they’re finished, I can get back to concentrating on the strip. It would be nice to get a buffer of comics going so I’m not racing to the deadline every week.

I have to thank Tyler Martin and his awesome  ComicPress 2.5 Theme for making this site easy to update and customize, Matthew Arevalo for hosting it, and all the readers for coming back each week to check out JEFbot! Thanks, all!

Oh, and if you notice any glitches be sure and let me know. Other than that, sit back, relax and enjoy the new site!

Need Tech Help?

Monday, June 1st, 2009

If you live in Los Angeles and need some tech help, I thought I’d pass along the name “Matthew Arevalo” to you.  He’s a buddy of mine that specializes in “Providing professional services to the creative community.” He’s a certified Mac guy, but can help you with all your Windows needs too, since he speaks multi-platform.

I can vouch for him as he has graciously hosted this site for the past year and a half with few hiccups, and also helped me procure some equipment I use daily to produce the JEFbot strips you see each week. Plus, he and I have hung out and had sushi and beer together, so you know he’s good people.

See what he has to offer and get his contact info by clicking over to his site at: Hollywood Mac Guru
