Worst Interview on the Web

The Worst Icon on the Web

Check me out being interviewed on the inaugural episode of The Worst Show on the Web, a web radio show hosted by none other than JEFbot webcomic alum and good friend of mine, Kurtis Bedford (aka K-Bed). The interview starts as a fun Q&A about my experience doing the Wil Wheaton arc in JEFbot, but quickly devolves into the hosts accusing me of being Wil’s stalker. I kind of deserve that after creating a storyline hating on Wil, but “it’s all in good fun” so check it out!

To hear the interview click here, then click on the mic at the bottom left of the home page to get to the show’s blogtalkradio site. I’m on the first show, titled, “Grand Opening” and appear near the 23 minute mark, in case you’d like to jump past (or to?) what the worst of the web has to offer.

Interview on Just Another Game Site

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

just another game site logoI was on the phone recently for an interview with Bryan Mashinter of Just Another Game Site. Check out the transcription of it by clicking here: justanothergamesite.com.

Videogames have been a huge part of my life since I first discovered an old Pong-playing console in a closet of my parent’s house when I was a kid. As you can surmise from many a strip, they still play a big part. So when Bryan contacted me about possibly doing an interview for his site, I jumped at the chance. What ensued was an epic, 2 hour conversation about videogames and the JEFbot webcomic, which Bryan has thankfully distilled into more manageable chunks, the first part of which can be found here.

If you’re a videogame fan (I know there are a lot of you readers who are), bookmark the Just Another Game Site. In addition to Bryan, whose reviews I’ve found I can trust, it also has a very enthusiastic staff posting reviews, comments and opinions about videogames, and I think you’ll enjoy it.

I was recently on the 86th episode of the Two Guys Talking Webcomics podcast with Kurt Sasso and Special Guest co-host Byron Wilkins of 1977 the Comic. Topics covered include: the Schuetze family, where ideas for JEFbot strips came from, Wil Wheaton, Grey Skies, ferrets, Danielle Corsetto, The Christmas Bat, Michael Cornacchia, The Power of Scrawn, and riding ostriches, among other things.

Was a fun interview, check it out:

Vote for JEFbot – 8/21 UPDATE!

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

8/30 UPDATE: We didn’t make it to the final stage of the tournament but we had a GREAT run! Out of 50 Interviews we made it to the last 8, so a big thanks to everybody who voted and to Kurt Sasso of TGT Webcomics for putting this whole thing together. Congrats to all the finalists, especially to my buddy and competition in the semifinals, The Legend of Bill‘s David Reddick. (We’re still gonna have to do some karaoke together in the future, Dave!)

Now go check out the TGT Webcomics site regularly for some great interviews with some of your favorite webcomics creators.

8/27 UPDATE: There’s still time to cast your daily vote in the
TGT Tournament! Sure, it looks like we aren’t going to make it to the Finals at this point, but let’s not go down without a fight!

Interview_Seattle Geekly

Friday, March 18th, 2011

While I was at the Emerald City Comicon, I had a fun interview with Shannon and Matt of the Seattle Geekly podcast! Hear me talk about the JEFbot strip, acting, Wil Wheaton, things I geek out over and more, here:

Seattle Geekly Episode 93

I’m around the 34 – 35 minute mark, but listen to the whole thing, as they have some great interviews with other creators. Here’s the description, from their blog: “In this week’s show we have interviews with some familiar names and some new ones including Dark Horse Comics Managing Editor Scott Allie, writers Brandon Jerwa and Matt Sturges, webcomic creators Jeff Schuetze of Jefbot and Curt Franklin and Chris Haley from Let’s Be Friends Again plus a whole bunch more.”

Oh, and before the interview starts, when Shannon and Matt mention me flaking out on them last year – yeah, that totally happened. It was a hectic time, and I wasn’t good at writing down appointments, and I totally forgot to call in for an interview with them. I felt really bad about it, so I’m glad we finally got to chat. (I’m just thankful they didn’t harbor any bad feelings over it, cuz they were supercool, nice, geeky people.) Thanks, Seattle Geekly!
