Although jefbot has finally gotten free from his nerd entombment in one piece (albeit a little bruised), this storyline’s not quite finished yet…

Today’s strip captures a rare moment of geek bliss for our titular hero. Hope you all have friends and loved ones you can quote movies, act out scenes and basically geek out with, too.

Normally, when I write a strip that refers to a certain movie, television show or videogame, I try and make the strip funny on its own, without making the gag reliant on the reference. This is not one of those strips. I think it’s safe to say that most of you JEFbot readers are very familiar with Star Wars, but if you aren’t, why do you hate joy?

Woo-hoo! The strip’s finally up! It was totally frustrating not being able to work on the comic last week while I was repairing the site. Although I was able to get to sleep earlier since I didn’t have a strip to post, I would still be thinking about the strip, and generally get up, wide awake, around 3 or 4am – right around the time I’d normally be going to sleep the morning before a strip’s due. So even my body missed it, I suppose, as well as my mind. We’ll see how I feel about this tomorrow morning when I wake up for work.

Thanks for all the understanding and support while the site was down. Here’s hoping getting the strip posted and keeping the site running is smooth sailing for the foreseeable future!

It felt like the universe was conspiring to keep this strip from getting posted, but it’s finally up! Thanks for your patience.

A number of you commented on earlier strips, asking why jefbot couldn’t use his Powers of Scrawn to squeeze through the boxes right after he got stuck. My answer to those questions was that he couldn’t use his scrawn powers when pinned. Only by teaming up with the Cornfather’s chub powers could he hope to activate his “phasing” ability under the weight of all those boxes.

After a long hiatus, Abraxas is back! Can it really be since June of 2009 that we last saw jefbot’s favorite pet ferret (not counting guest strips)!? Hard to believe, no? Anyway, we know Abraxas has had a certain taste for electronics in the past, but never has the situation been so dire. Now that it appears communications have been cut, how will jefbot and the Cornfather get out of this (literal) mess?
