Here’s another awesome guest strip from Charles Arrington of Redux Deluxe! He sent this one in a while ago as fan art, but for some reason, I didn’t run it. I think I was holding onto it for a rainy day when I needed guest strips, and seeing how I’m in Seattle for the Emerald City Comicon, where it’s been raining and hailing since I got here, now seemed the perfect time to post it. I’d write more about how great the art is – especially with cel, the 8-bit hearts and jefbot holding a Zapper – but you already know how awesome Charles is from his last contribution! Emerald City Comicon update: I’ve been getting my booth set up (here’s a twitpic of my banners) and have met a bunch of cool artists and writers. Been an absolute blast so far! Will expound more later in a proper post – I still have work to do on my booth before the convention opens – in approximately 6.5 hours! And from the emails and tweets I’ve been getting, it looks like I’ll be seeing some of you there! Can’t wait!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve run any guest strips on this site, and this one from Charles Arrington is a fantastic way to bring them back!

I love everything about this strip – the cartooning, the colors, and especially the concept. Not only am I thrilled by the dream within a dream within a dream happening Inception-style here, but gamers will note that jefbot’s in Subcon, the dream world from Super Mario Bros. 2 (and yes, I know about its roots as Doki-Doki Panic but it’s still one of my favorites.) Just way, way cool. Love the expressions throughout, jefbot’s delusion of Mario-esque grandeur, and cel and bot snoozing on the couch, which just caps the whole thing off with a nice touch. Great stuff!

The way Ashley rendered cel is just sublime. Check out her hair, eyes, legs and, um, just check out the entire, beautiful picture and see for yourself. So beautiful, in fact, that Ashley is graciously letting me post that top image as a wallpaper. (check for sizes below.) I love the way she captured jefbot, too – not only his look, but his naughtiness/sneakiness, too.

I think today’s strip from Alun Clewe of Soup – The Comic Strip is a fitting end to the past few weeks of guest strips. It’s not only funny and well drawn, it’s educational too! It also comes from a rare breed of artist – the actor/webcartoonist hybrid, of which I have a certain affinity for.

So enjoy this, the last of this run of guest strips and come back on Friday for the return of new, regular JEFbot strips!

My mind has seriously been blown away by all the amazing guest strips I’ve gotten so far, and this one, from Audra Furuichi (Kyubikitsy) and Scott Yoshinaga (Kimonostereo) over at nemu*nemu is no exception.

When I asked Audra and Scott for a guest strip I knew they’d knock it out of the park and oh man, did they. I was secretly hoping Audra would put her prodigious skills to drawing Musashi and Abraxas, so when this strip came in I seriously did a Kung Fu kick in the air. So awesome.

Evan Diaz, the writer/artist from the webcomic Pajama Forest, provided today’s strip for your viewing pleasure. I love the thought of other characters auditioning for the “jefbot” role while I’m away. Especially a toque-wearing, robot chef with a penchant for mishearing things.
