So jefbot doesn’t get to go with cel to the crash site due to his injured foot, but it’s probably for the best since he doesn’t have cel’s fighting skills or her blaster. Speaking of which, some readers were already skeptical when cel said her gun was just a replica almost a year ago (JEFBOT.227) and now it appears your distrust and paranoia were justified.

And what souvenir could cel possibly bring back from the crashed alien ship? Ray gun? Neuralizer? Probe? If it’s the latter, let’s hope it’s sanitized.

It’s not always advisable to reenact scenes from your favorite action movies, especially if you don’t have a 24 hour stunt double.

Looks like jefbot owes cel big time. Also looks like we can rule out these aliens being on a mission of peace.

I think I was holding onto it for a rainy day when I needed guest strips, and seeing how I’m in Seattle for the Emerald City Comicon, where it’s been raining and hailing since I got here, now seemed the perfect time to post it. I’d write more about how great the art is – especially with cel, the 8-bit hearts and jefbot holding a Zapper – but you already know how awesome Charles is from his last contribution! Emerald City Comicon update: I’ve been getting my booth set up (here’s a twitpic of my banners) and have met a bunch of cool artists and writers. Been an absolute blast so far! Will expound more later in a proper post – I still have work to do on my booth before the convention opens – in approximately 6.5 hours! And from the emails and tweets I’ve been getting, it looks like I’ll be seeing some of you there! Can’t wait!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve run any guest strips on this site, and this one from Charles Arrington is a fantastic way to bring them back!

I love everything about this strip – the cartooning, the colors, and especially the concept. Not only am I thrilled by the dream within a dream within a dream happening Inception-style here, but gamers will note that jefbot’s in Subcon, the dream world from Super Mario Bros. 2 (and yes, I know about its roots as Doki-Doki Panic but it’s still one of my favorites.) Just way, way cool. Love the expressions throughout, jefbot’s delusion of Mario-esque grandeur, and cel and bot snoozing on the couch, which just caps the whole thing off with a nice touch. Great stuff!

Thanks, Charles, I couldn’t be happier leaving the site in your capable hands while I’m in the midst of getting ready for Seattle’s Emerald City Comicon which is happening later this week!
