It seems so long ago when jefbot passed on going to the beach party due to his “antisocialness.” Right about now I bet he wishes he had stuck with that decision.

I totally didn’t mean for today’s strip to be a double-decker, it’s just I couldn’t get the timing right with the standard 3-4 panel layout (and believe me, I tried). I think the extra panels were worth it though, as the whole thing just flows better now. Plus, this is a pretty important moment in this storyline as we see jefbot really being thrown for a loop at cel’s sudden departure and I didn’t want to rush his moment.

So it seems the Cornfather’s not so drunk he can’t still tease jefbot a bit before the party’s over. Unfortunately, he’s not kidding about cel taking off and leaving jefbot behind.

JEFbot trivia: Almost called this one “Mal-Odies of the Mind” but even I have a “groaner” limit.

Leaving you with a sweet one this time (and a double decker to boot!).

As many of you know, I’m hitting the pause button on this storyline for the next few weeks while I’m away in Michigan shooting Grey Skies, but I’ll be back in October to wrap this arc up! I’ll be leaving you in good hands in the meantime though, with some awesome guest strips generously provided by a few readers (if you’d like to do a guest strip it’s not too late! click here for details) and a few of my favorite webcomic buddies. I think it’ll be interesting to see how others will put their own spin on this strip, so make sure and check those comics out starting next week. I’ll be blogging from the set as much as possible, with photos and maybe some video, to let you know how things are going with the film, so be sure to check the JEFblog when you can. FREE JEFBOT.Oasis Wallpaper!

Peeps on the JEFbot Mailing List got this early, but now that it’s out for mass consumption, what better way to celebrate the last few weeks of summer than with a summer-y JEFbot wallpaper adorning your desktop? Okay, yes, hanging out poolside in the actual sun with a drink in hand would be a better way, but can you capture that and put it on your computer? Again, okay, technically, if a friend takes a picture, that would capture it for your computer, but I digress. This way’s quicker and easier and won’t cost you the amount of a Dr. Pepper or Corona. So there.

All the standard sizes are below, but if you need something special, just let me know. Speaking of special, if you’re rockin’ a PSP, notice that there’s a PSP version of the wallpaper below, which makes complete sense since jefbot is actually playing one in the image, and is something that I should’ve instinctively thought about while I was drawing it up. Didn’t happen, though. Thanks to reader CheddarMan for the idea. And thanks to all the other readers who either commented or emailed me requesting this strip be turned into a wallpaper!

Instructions

For computer monitors, select your monitor resolution by left-clicking on the corresponding link above, then right-click on the wallpaper that pops up and save it to a folder. After that, right click on the wallpaper image in the folder and select “Set as Background” if you have a PC, or right click on your desktop and select “Change Desktop Background,” then navigate to the image and select it, if you’re running a Mac.

For iPhones, just navigate to this page using Safari on your phone, click the iPhone (320×480) link above, then hold your finger down on the image and select “Save Image” when that option comes up. Go back to the main menu and select “Settings,” then “Wallpaper” and finally select it from your Camera Roll. Voila! Now you can hang out on the beach with jefbot any time you feel like it.

For PSPs, the easiest way is to surf to this page on your PSP Browser, click the PSP (480×272) link, click “File” then “Save Image” to your /PSP/Photo folder. Name it whatever you want. “JEFBOT_oasis_wallpaper.jpg” will do. Next, from the XMB, go to “Photo,” select your Memory Stick, and find the JEFBOT_oasis_wallpaper.jpg you just downloaded. Now, hit the triangle button, and click on “Set as Wallpaper.” Click “Yes” when it asks if you want to overwrite the current wallpaper with the new one. When you go back to the Main Menu, the wallpaper should be set. The other way to do it would be to download the PSP version of the wallpaper to your computer, copy the image onto the Memory Stick from your PSP, and then follow the above steps, starting with “Next, from the XMB, go to ‘Photo.’” That’s it! A lot of steps, but the image looks pretty cool on the PSP’s beautiful screen.
