JEFBOT.269_Cornis Botticus
Well, the good news is that they’re keeping the name Triceratops instead of Torosaurus since the name “Triceratops” has been around longer and therefore takes precedence. Unlike the Brontosaurus, which never existed in the first place, unless you count in my heart. Props to Jack Horner and John Scannella for the discovery.

Love how the Cornfather went from “JOY!!” to “meh” in one panel.
I went from a pouty “yeah, it sucks” to a stunned “oh dear gods that’s so wrong”, when I saw the last panel.
so i take it you’re gonna make a run at beating your three-in-a-row streak, AdM?
and yeah, the specimen in that last panel is a bit creepy, i’ll give you that.
I’m not promising anything. I’m just saying that I’m the only one who’s going to beat my streak *winks*
I’ve already warned you – if I end up with nightmares about the last panel, you’re in trouble! :p But not as much trouble as the world would be in if such a creature existed. *shudders*

The second i finished read the strip i look for it.
And by the way i have been reading all the jefbot strips these past days(from 150 to 269 just today).
And i can´t wait to see what happen with Cel and Mu.

according to scientific naming conventions, since “jeffather” came before “Cornbot” (even if by only a few minutes), the former has precedence, Eddie. or you could refer to “it” by its latin name: Cornis Botticus.
Hundreds of years from now this strip will be hanging in a very prestigious museum somewhere. …Probably on Venus. Amazing strip. And that last panel is a piece of art. Kudos-BOT!

It really is sad that with increased scientific knowledge, sometimes we loose our childhood icons. I guess I will also have to Google what happened to the brontosaurus. I didn’t know it “never existed” so I’ll have to find out what you meant by that.
I occasionally wonder what future sentient species or aliens or whatever would make of what would be left behind if we suddenly disappeared. What would be left? What would go back to nature? Would it paint an accurate picture of us and how we live? It’s good food for thought on long car trips.
On an unrelated note, are you still planning on making the Scrawn and Chub power shirts? Taran desperately wants a Scrawn one and will likely be pestering you about it sometime in the near future. He asked me for your e-mail address again since all the school e-mail accounts got wiped at the end of the year (we need to get the kid a gmail account).
i DO still plan on making The Power of C&S shirts, Shanna, but it’s been so long since the last new JEFbot merch, i thought i’d do a couple character shirts, first. i’m really hoping to get new jefbot, cel and Chubman & Scrawn shirts out before the end of the year, so tell Taran they’ll be here (relatively) soon! i’ll be sure and email you when that gets close to happening. glad to hear you and Taran are anxious for these things!
yeah, apparently, the Brontosaurus skeleton that was discovered, was really a skeleton of an Apatosaurus body with a Camarasaurus skull slapped on it, so Brontosaurus never really existed, sadly. but now Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus have become pretty much synonymous so our Thunder Lizard lives on to some extent.
have you ever watched that show, Life After People, on the History Channel, Shanna? it details what would happen 10, 20, 30+ years down the road if humans suddenly disappeared. pretty fascinating, and worth a look. just gotta say, once we get wiped out, the archeologist aliens better get here quickly: it won’t take long for nature to reclaim the planet from us.
Okay first, I LOVE the hybrid! AMAZING! Second, I was sooooo pissed off when I heard the news about Triceratops- It was by far my favorite dinosaur in the 3rd grade! Excellent strip as always!

<3 I love dinosaurs. But Jurassic Park Terrified me as a Kid. It did come out when I was like 3 or 4 though to my credit. I did love the start of the Land Before Time series of movies though I did stop watching those after so many sequels…
i was much older when Jurassic Park came out, DJ, but my love for dinosaurs goes way back. my teacher even let me teach the class about them when i was in the first grade! (i guess i was a serious nerd, even at a young age.)
and yes, they should’ve stopped doing Land Before Time sequels after the 3rd of 4th. probably earlier.
