JEFBOT.222_Narrow Escape
It felt like the universe was conspiring to keep this strip from getting posted, but it’s finally up! Thanks for your patience.
A number of you commented on earlier strips, asking why jefbot couldn’t use his Powers of Scrawn to squeeze through the boxes right after he got stuck. My answer to those questions was that he couldn’t use his scrawn powers when pinned. Only by teaming up with the Cornfather’s chub powers could he hope to activate his “phasing” ability under the weight of all those boxes.

What I dont get is how he can get from these thin line scatches to his signature thick black lined finished graphic art. Than again, Im no artist…

uh… yeah! Abraxas destroyed it, but then i got a new one! heheh. yes, being on the “development team” i’ve had it on my iPhone since early february, and it’s way cool. now i just need more auditions so i can use it more.

Maybe your app will help you get more parts, Jeff. Of course, if this gets really popular, then maybe you won’t NEED to get more parts, as you’ll be rolling in the dough. Of course, if it gets really popular, I fear the already dangerous LA highways will be even more dangerous with folks using that app to rehearse their lines while driving.
ha! yes, how crazy would it be to get bumped by someone using the app? heheh. and let’s hope this leads to more parts – for myself and others!

Super funny and yet super suspenseful, bot! I especially love the second panel. And I’ve seen that face the Cornfather has in the third panel before. But it’s usually when I’m looking at myself in the bathroom mirror when I’m sitting on the toilet.

heh. jefbot does have a high threshold for forgiveness, Maryz, and i think that’s one of his better traits. otherwise, this strip would just be about bot and the Cornfather fighting all the time. actually… they do fight a lot. hmmm.
the door won’t prove to be as much of a barrier as those boxes were, i can tell you that much. look for those two to get beyond it in the next strip.
they must a super villain nemesis that’s causing all this to happen and they just dont know it.(cue dramatic music…DUN DUN DUUUUUUNNN!)

This was weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell worth the wait, and flippin’ hilarious! That 2nd and 3rd panel had me in tears, I was laughing so hard! I did hear (in my head) the dramatic prairie dog music “playing” right after CF made the discovery of JB’s door locked from the outside in the last panel. Looking forward to what Friday’s strip will hold for JB and CF!
I myself don’t have an iPhone, but I do know of a lot of apps for it. With watching the video for the app, (And seeig David do the tutorial was awesome too by the way.) it really looks like it will come in handy. Thanks for leaving a link up of the sketch for the placeholder!

AWESOME, Spanky – glad you got some laughs out of this strip! and btw, i just went to YouTube and watched the “surprised prairie dog” again and – as always – lol’d. then i watched the “darth” version, and laughed again.
and yeah, David was awesome in those tutorial vids. could’ve used a shave, if you ask me, tho. heheh. meant to ask him if he was up for a role that day or what.

Its the whole second panel “Chub and Scrawn Powers Unite!” and I just get this image in my head when I get to the panel of the Jeffbot and Cornfather wiggling themselves loose. Comic gold.

I don’t have a work laptop. Just a home/school/used at work sometimes laptop. And it fits the droid fine actually. When I set it as a background, I had to crop it a bit, but I can at least see Chubman and Scrawn. It’s cool because I scroll from left to right the background slides with it.

I just got around to reading the strip due to a VERY crazy week at work. It has been very stressful and I have been sick the whole time, which of course makes the week even more of a pain and stressful. Why am I telling you guys all this? Because this strip just brightened my week. I knew that at a time when I needed a little laugh I would be able to turn to JB. Thanks bro!!! Awesome strip!
