JEFBOT.207_Dinner’s On Me
Although I couldn’t resist going a bit gross with today’s strip (I blame all the Ren & Stimpy cartoons I consumed in my youth), I don’t think this is the most disgusting JEFbot-strip-that deals-with-puke. I believe that honor is still held by 2008′s inspired-by-true-events Thanksgiving strip, which some of you may remember as: JEFBOT.98_Chain Reaction. I’ll try harder to one-up that nasty strip the next time I’m dealing with puke in this webcomic.
Have to admit that it’s strange seeing CF without his hat on. Love the pajama’s for him! And DAMN! That sound effect was epic in regards to CF puking. He really did “blow chunks”!
I still remember the strip for Thanksgiving, as you said it was based around actual events for that years holiday. This strip is full of awesome, as it did remind me of Ren & Stimpy. Only questions I have are: Who’s Ren, and who’s Stimpy? And does JB have a weak stomach? If he does, this could get ugly very quickly!
yeah, we rarely see the Cornfather without his cap on, Spanky. i considered having him wearing it but then the pajamas just looked like a funky suit instead of sleepwear.
glad you liked the sound effect! that changed so many times. initially, it was just “barf!” but that just didn’t convey the magnitude of the vomit.
i’m definitely the evil chihuahua. the Cornfather’s the fat cat. heheh. his opinion may vary.
I think I see a bit of that iguana barf in there. OK, now I must leave this strip quickly. Yucko.

You’re right, this one isn’t as gross, but that’s only because this one is done in a more cartoony fashion. That other one is worse because you can envision it actually happening.
yeah, “more cartoony” was definitely a choice made for this one, SY, otherwise even i would’ve been grossed-out by it.
HA! Love the second panel. Impending doom. And yes, .98 is more disgusting, because it’s something that I’m now afraid will actually happen to me someday. I’m going to be checking napkins before using them for the rest of my life thanks to that comic.

…Blloorf is a surprisingly good onomatopoeia.

i’m in my 30s and not too far behind you, shanna! so i can’t really be considered a “young pup” anymore, sadly. still, Ren and Stimpy came on when i was a teenager, so the “in my youth” still holds, imho. was kidding with skinny arbuckle – not sure how old he thinks i am!
Ah, so now the strip from way back with Wil makes sense. I was wondering how you could have been competing for the Stand By Me part with him since I thought you were younger than you are.
I remember Ren and Stimpy. I watched it a bit, but it was a kinda over the top for me in the gross dept. I still love cartoons, though. It’s something we should never outgrow!

Cornfathers aiming skills are severly lacking. And he REALY should start looking at what is he eating not just belive when somebody says *Its Healthy so eat it*.

By sound effects, I think they were referring to the “Blloorf” panel. No actual sounds, thank goodness. Please, Jefbot, don’t add actual barf sounds to any future comics!

Eeewwww. I forgot about the pinkeye strip. Yea, that was pretty bad. I’d have to say it’s a “toss up” (pun definitely intended) between the chunks and the crusty eye mucus. Ugh.

There’s so much to say about this amazing strip, bot: the colors, the sound effect, the facial expressions (especially the one buried under puke), the fact that that little bag could’ve never held all that vomit anyway, BUT my favorite part of the strip are The Cornfather’s pj’s. …Can you smoke em?
if i ever end up making those pjs, you’ll get the first pair, MC. as long as you promise not to smoke ‘em.
