Guest Strip_David Dionne and Del Spaig of When Gods Skip Out

Today’s strip comes almost straight from the minds of David Dionne and Del Spaig of When Gods Skip Out, and since I encouraged Dave to send a guest strip in when he emailed me about possibly mixing my drawings with his photography, I suppose their assertion is correct and I am somewhat responsible for what you see above. :)

Thanks, David and Del!

This was seriously entertaining! (They all have been.) But this one just has that little bit of “uniqueness” to it. The only thing that has me kinda worried, is the fact that in the 4th panel, JB is holding Mu?.. and the last panel he has some papers crumpled up in his hand as if he destroyed Mu! (Just me being silly of course.) But, yeah liked this one! Kudos!

  2. Maryz says:

I cant see why would you be complaining about being responsible for this. Its great!

  3. Stan Yan says:

    Ha! Great punchline!

  4. Drakey says:

Hooray! Breaking the fourth wall worked! Personally, I was just delighted to get the chance to do this.

As for Musashi in the fourth panel… ummm… a wizard did it? Really, I had just been hoping that nobody would notice, but that’s the risk I took. Good eye, McBubbles.

and it goes all down hill from here….CUE THE ATOMIC RADIATION*ducks*

  6. Trones says:

Right on! I love the contrast between the Jefbot and the photos =) Also, the punchline is slightly reminiscent of how the characters talk to the artist in Real Life Comics. Cool strip =)

  7. Drakey says:

Thanks, Trones. Man, that third panel gave me no end of trouble. Turns out there’s about zero contrast between my head and Del’s window.

  8. Del Spaig says:

Of course there’s contrast. One is more or less an empty space that light and other information media pass through, and the other is a window.

  9. FunnyShaffer says:

I LOVE it! Laugh out loud funny. I love the style… great guest strip… nice dialogue!

  10. Drakey says:

Bonus fun: spot all the starships in the strip, and identify them and their class.

    Yeah… we’re geeks.

  11. lor says:

OMG. This is hysterical. I love that Jefbot escaped the confines of the Internet.

  12. lor says:

    Oh, and Jefbot’s demands…priceless.

  13. The force is with you, David and Del. Very interesting design! What special powers do you think the Cornfather should have? ;-)

I was reading through the archive and totally flipped my lid at this. I had forgotten all about Del Spaig and Drakes’ comic!
