Actually, I’m sure High School Musical and Barbie Horse Adventures are perfectly fine games for their target demographic. They just don’t add spice to a date the way Cooking Mama does. Trust me.

cel’s totally pulling jefbot’s leg about zac, JF3. otherwise i think ‘bot would’ve had the same “noooooOooooo” reaction as you did.
and we have a little bit more time before the sun sets, but should make for a pretty romantic scene…

This made me LOL. First she verbaly kills those games and then admit they are kinda fun… I dig how you implement these kind of things we all do once in a while into your comics. Its what makes it so funny and beliveable even with all crazyness that Jeffbot is going through. Mostly by his own doing, whats one of thing that are from real life too. Once again, Kudos!
yep, cel’s shoes are off and her feet are out! that’s gotta be seen as some sort of progress for jefbot, right, Maryz? and yeah, balancing the ‘craziness’ with ‘believability’ is something i’m always thinking about when writing these strips, so i’m happy to hear you think i’m getting it right.

Their feets are both naked this time! Awesome! That second panel could have worked out to be the perfect moment for JB to kiss Cel. (The lighting was just right, and you drew the frame/close up just right as well.) I don’t understand the whole HSM craze, or why Mr. Efron is all the rage either.. but that’s just me, and I’m getting old so I guess that plays into it all?
I’m trying to figure out what the symbol is on Cels hoodie. (which would be another cool idea to make Cel gamer chick hoodies with that symbol on it, as well as the JB logo and put in the botSHOP!) To me it looks like the XBox 360 logo, but I could be wrong. And I’m also trying to figure out what that sticker is on Cels DS. (It looks like something from Space Invaders.) Yet another one to make me smile and laugh out loud sir! *round of applause*
true, the mood was perfect for jefbot to make his move in that second panel, Spanky. unfortunately, he’s just not that smooth. heheh. but maybe her brushing his nekkid foot with hers will embolden him.
and i don’t understand the whole HSM craze, either. i tried watching the 1st one and just couldn’t get into it.
and jacob, below, is right about cel’s glyph – a thermometer inside a “c” to resemble a “power” symbol as on a computer. funny you should mention the sticker since you’ll be seeing it in future strips, but i can’t reveal more than that just yet.

you’ll be happy to know cel’s totally messing with him, JM. but it seems there are a lot of other people that think she’s being serious, too. i may have to revise the strip a bit to make her sarcasm more clear.
Hey man, Zac Efron is hot, and hot is hot. Guy’s are open minded when it comes to hot chicks, why can’t girls be the same way?
totally agree with you, Aquila, and it would be kinda funny if cel was being serious about Zac, but she was really just kidding around. yeah, i definitely gotta change the wording a bit.

Awesome strip ‘bot. I’ve never played cooking mama or many of the other casual games cept diner dash and bejeweled… and tetris but tetris is old school ^^
i looOOove me some tetris and bejeweled, DJ. i’ve never played diner dash but i can vouch for cooking mama on the DS: it’s a lot of fun. not bad on Wii, either, but the controls are a bit janky.
Such a terrible webcomic! Pandering to demgraphics, Mary Sue protagonists, character development with the finesse of a preschooler’s fingerpaintings, and horrible rip-off Penny Arcade art (which admittedly looks terrible, so how you could make it worse is beyond me, but you suceeded).
Why do you do this? If you hate people you should just leave them alone, not torture them with terrible creations like this.

I’ve never watched any of the HS music craps. I really hate musicals (or at least REAL people singing gets on my nerves). I do enjoy some Disney animated movies and for some reason or another I can stand the singing there. No idea why.
Cel is a nice person. If it was me I would have killed jef. just like that. I guess I’m a very violence prone person.

there are a bunch of musicals i totally dig, Sonitan – jesus christ superstar, hedwig and the angry inch and les miserables, among them. disney stuff, too. check out dr. horrible if you haven’t already. that’s awesome, especially for the geek crowd.

see, now, a game about “matricidal cannibalism” sounds like an even better game than cooking mama, reynard61, and i’d totally play it! and while you can’t really learn how to cook from CM, it’ll definitely turn you on to some food dishes (especially Japanese ones) you might not know about.

unfortunately, Death Note (and i think Death Note 2) only played in town twice, and i missed both shows, ZachLight. been thinking about tracking them down on DVD since i keep hearing good things about ‘em. and while i have nothing against Zac (i thought he did a great job in Hairpray), cel really is just being her sarcastic self when she said he’s dreamy.
I’m amused by the fact that the tags for this strip include “octopus dumplings” and “zac efron”. Are these topics that you anticipate coming up in a lot of future strips?
RM, those tags are for when, a few months down the road, i can’t remember the exact strip cel mentioned zac efron, or jefbot mentioned cooking mama in. then i can just search for “zac” or “dumplings” and it’ll come up. i should really look into something more robust, methinks.

Hey Mewchu, it’s a shame that you have to be so rude in your comments to Jefbot. It’s obvious to me that you yourself, at one point, wanted to be an artist of some kind. But somewhere down the road, you gave up. Believe me, I know how hard it is to realize you’re not good at something. The best way around those little hurdles of self-discouragement is to dive deep down in your heart and soul and realize that the reason you sit around ripping other people’s amazing work is because you’re a f&#$ing a$$hole. Now go and get your uncle’s d*ck outta your a$$ and become a PRODUCTIVE member of society.
