Wow. It’s been a long time since I was the first to comment. Feels kinda good. But not as good as I felt when I read this strip. Super funny, bot. And pretty much super true.
The Cornfather waits for no man…er…I mean no XBOX 360 when he’s heading to the beach. Great colors, great dialogue, and great facial expressions. Way to go, man!

Awesome! I always take forever to make important decisions too – and to me everything is an important decision – so I’m always a amazed and slightly horrified when someone like the Cornfather just wings it w/o rehearsal or reviewing every possible scenario.
i hear ya, Z. i’m always amazed and horrified that there are almost never any consequences for those friends who “wing it,” either.

I foretell the tackle and takedown of CF! I can honestly say that most of the time, I do tend to rehearse what I am going to say even if it’s to a live person and not voicemail. (But most of the time my mouth can’t keep up with my train of thought which is like a fast moving train, and I usually end up sounding like a babbling idiot.) JB’s facial expression in the last panel is amazing! Another one to make me laugh! Love it!
agreed, Spanky – rehearsal time is not just for voicemail, but can (and should, imho) be applied to pretty much any social interaction whatsoever!

the question that third panel leaves is a good one… Does jefbot simply twitch with the malfunction or spring into action to exact his revenge? Your strip makes me wish for Fridays almost as much as the weekend beckons.
anticipating the next strip is one of the highest compliments i can get, so a big thanks for that, 11teen! but as for whether jefbot will exact his revenge or not… yeah, you’re gonna hafta wait ’til friday to find out.
Puahahahaha. I think people should too. Though I kinda go with it and then play it back and keep re-recording until I get it right.
i do the same thing, ImitationAsian; even just recording the greeting on my cell phone takes me many, many takes.

But it was good to see Cornfather take the initiative into his own hands when Jefbot was taking too long.

thanks, Maryz. i can’t tell you how much i appreciate you and all the other readers who come back for each strip!!! and what you said about jefbot is very true – he does have some of the same dark blood running through his veins as Xinda, only he’s much better at keeping it in check. had it been Xin in that situation instead of jefbot, the Cornfather would be dead by now. end of story.

Oh man I used to ALWAYS rehearse/write down all my phone calls and get all strung out with Anxiety. Now I’ve got this super swanky job were I talk to a bunch of professionals and crazy parents all the time.
