JEFBOT.135_Face to Face
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the Cornfather. First, he was terrorized by some creepy, crawly things, now it’s the furry critters with the sharp teeth he’s gotta watch out for. It’s becoming a veritable Wild Discovery show in that apartment, or at least an episode of When Birthday Presents Attack.

heheh. it’s true, Jed! when i was a kid it was a real Wild Discovery show at my parents’ house with all the hamsters, lizards, a dog and a cockatiel, not to mention us humans, living together.
…made me laugh!

I instantly thought of the Alien face hugger at the last panel.
funny you should say that Kevin – in my first draft of this strip, i was going to go with an “Alien” joke as the punchline but scrapped it for what you see here.

Awesome! I love jefbot’s shredded jeans in the first frame. I assume Abraxas is still in his chewing stage. The way you hang things on the Cornfather’s person makes me laugh.
heheh. not Abraxas, Milas, jefbot just wears his jeans too long so they get shredded. we don’t see the bottom of his legs that often.

Oh my! Jefbot is getting all racy now! I saw naked feets! Yet another amazing strip, and they just keep getting better and better! I laughed out loud at this one. Kudos!

I’ve never seen a ferret do that….they’re usually so playful…almost catlike…except without the clawing and the biting…
what about the stinkage factor, Eptha? have you known them to smell bad?
i really like some of the subtle changes made to the art style in the past few months. Experiments in color and texture have resulted in more heft and more depth to the strip as well as a parade of spot on facial expressions that impress me with their nuance. Amazing work, Jeff.
thanks for noticing that stuff, man. sometimes those are happy experiments, sometimes they aren’t, but i’m always learning something from them. and since i don’t see myself ever being completely satisfied with where i’m at, i can pretty much guarantee the experiments will continue for as long as i’m doing what i’m doing.
Oh yes…they smell really bad…especially if you don’t get the musk glands removed…and bathe them daily.
Oh it’s exactly what it looks like…that ferret is humping your face!
And this marks the first time EVER that Jefbot has gone without shoes. Just thought I’d give you that for when, decades from now, the next generation of nerds- who, rather than slipping comics into protective sleeves, will be slipping webcomics into protected folders- start reminiscing on good ol’ Jefbot’s first-times.
