JEFBOT.114_Ongaku
To *ahem* “keep it real” I created most of this strip while listening to nerdcore hip hop, especially MC Frontalot‘s latest release, “Final Boss” and some tracks from Optimus Rhyme and MC Hawking. If you have trouble relating to a lot of the modern rap music out there, but like science fiction, videogames, robots and math, then give nerdcore a shot.
Note: Sorry if you came to the site and all you saw was this. A big “thanks” for all the awesome comments and emails sent my way while I’ve been fighting this cold. Definitely helped me get back to the drawing board.
Wow, it sucks to be sick… But at least you can take joy in knowing that every person that you’ve come in contact has the chance of catching your cold.

Outstanding, bot! Way to go with making us think you’re talking about your Japanese heritage and then you switch it on us when you talk about your Nerd heritage.
This one had me laughing out loud. Great dialogue and I really love bot’s and Cornfather’s eyes in the last panel. I actually really like Nerdcore Hip Hop. My favorite artist is of the genre is Frank Sinatra.
I think what I like best is the lower lip bite in the third frame. Which betrays your Japanese heritage and grasps firmly the nerdcore in you. Nice work.

Ha! The CornFather’s horrified expression in the third panel is perfect! I sometimes wear it when I hear some of the more explicit Metal or Rap lyrics. Of course, some people tend to wear it when I tell them that I’m a hardcore Classical music fan…

hrm…never tried nerdcore myself, but then I’m not really into the sounds associated with rap and hip hop, though I could probably relate to the lyrics.
