JEFBOT.88_Sly Devil

My dad goes on a 4-5 month long fishing trip to Northern California every year, and I think his fashion sense is very much informed by that. “Functional” is a word that comes to mind when thinking about his current wardrobe and that’s being kind. In other words, he plays by his own rules as far as fashion’s concerned, and I kinda dig that about him.

Check out the previous strip to see how we got here.

    N.C. :) …he is no one’s fashion slave.

  2. Eptha says:

Haha! That sounds like something my stepmom would do to my dad. He tends to keep the same fashion too.

  3. shootzee says:

ha! and i bet your dad still wouldn’t change his look (same as mine) eptha.

  4. Funnyshaffer says:

Now that is amazing!!! Way to go Mombot!!! Jefbot you rock! I love the fall colors in this strip too! Excellent work!

  5. John K says:

Sometimes drastic measures are needed…and Mombot is the bot for the job! Nice job dude!

  6. shootzee says:

nicely put, jk – she may resort to sneakier measures than my real mom, but mombot definitely gets the job done!

  7. tomixcomics says:

Ha ha! I love Mombot’s expression in the last expression!

The art overall is awesome, but if I had to give a bit of constructive critisism I’d suggest being a little more subtle with the differences in outline widths. Mombots’ wide-outlined hands next to her thin-lined face is a bit of an eyesore.

  8. shootzee says:

thanks for the comment, tomix. as hans gruber would say, “i’ll take that under advisement.” :)

  9. DrGaellon says:

Ooooh, Mombot is SNEEEEEEEKY. (and, clearly, Dadbot is clueless.)

  10. shootzee says:

you got that right, DrGaellon, mombot’s WAY sneaky! as far as popbot goes, we don’t know if he’s actually worn the clothes, yet…

  11. I love Mombot’s scheming ways. So funny, bot. Again! Just when I think it can’t get any funnier, you pull me back in! I love the facial expressions, the colors, and the storyline. Aw hell, I just love JEFBOT! Oh and….GOBAMA!

  12. shootzee says:

so… are you saying you like the strip or not, cornacchia?

  13. stellak says:

is this how you learned to be sneaky…?

  14. shootzee says:

me? not sure. jefbot? definitely. with a little help from his two sisters, of course.

  15. Sonitan says:

    LOL!
My mom would do the same thing… if she had been a bit nicer! She just stomp her foot and said: “NO WAY IN HELL YOU”RE COMING INTO MY HOUSE DRESSED LIKE THAT!!”
    ROFL
And she means it! She didn’t let my older brother into the house while he was dooned into “reggaethon” fashion. He had to put his pants the rignt way (waistline in their correct place!) in order to be allowed in. I guess he changes inside his car or something!

  16. shootzee says:

ha! i love that story, Sonitan! while my mom never banned me from entering the house, i’m sure an eyebrow or two was raised at some of my fashion choices when i was a kid. the eighties were not kind.

  17. Rae of Sunshine says:

Well played, mombot! I should definitely try this on some of my relatives, they only wear army fatigues. ><

  18. shootzee says:

it’s too bad there’s not an “Old Army” store, rae.

  19. novascottch says:

And again, I’m surprised my GRANDMA hasn’t tried that on my grandpa.
