JEFBOT.49_Headshots02

jefbot gets new headshotsI try not to let my happiness be too influenced by the opinions of others, but sometimes I just can’t help it. Hope some of you empathize.

Thankfully, unlike my counterpart in today’s strip, I recently received some very positive, enthusiastic feedback from friends and family when choosing my new headshot. Mostly. Let me know what you think.

Love the strip! I have trouble choosing cantaloupes! Glad you resolved your technical difficulties.

  2. Pearl says:

You are smokin’! Can’t wait to see you at “Indiana Jones”!

  3. John says:

Oh man, I can relate. The only thing missing was the agent telling you blindly that you need new headshots…a week after getting new ones. Great job!

  4. So true and so perfectly illustrated. I think you should use an animated headshot. It would be better than most other headshots and definitely stand out. :-) Great work, JEFbot! This strip certainly makes up for the delay we all had to suffer through yesterday.

  5. funnyshaffer says:

OMG!!! Too funny. I’ve been there for sure!!!! I’d say it’s a funny strip, but sadly I know the pain!!!!
    Great job!!!

  6. Andra says:

grar, i’m already finished reading allllll the strips.

i found you through the guest strip you did for girls with slingshots and found it quite amusing and just had to come check you out. ;)

  7. shootzee says:

janonymous, thanks! yeah, it took a long time to decide on that headshot. but it was always in everyone’s choices when giving me feedback.

pearl, ha! thanks! let’s hope casting people think the same. yep, see you there! let’s all wear fedoras.

john, ugh. let’s hope that doesn’t happen!

michael cornacchia, if you create the technology to make an animated headshot on an 8×10 that i can hand out, i’ll do it! keep me posted.

funnyshaffer, laughing through the pain’s the only way.

andra, welcome to JEFBOT and thanks for going through the archives. :) hope you come back for future strips!

  8. Pam says:

I have heard of actors doing headshots then being asked to get a new set at their own expense…just makes me glad I decided to stick to amateur dramatics. Mostly because agents would find it offensive when I stuffed the headshots down their throat…:D

  9. Kukki says:

Looks good. Your lips and around your eyes seem a little to bright pink, though.

  10. Aerie says:

Got pointed here through the GWS site. Love the comic!

    Completely unfair though!

You can draw and you’re a hottie! Soooooo unfair!

  11. Tabi says:

Pointed here through GWS, but very nice work. It gave me the giggles after a hard day of work. For that alone, I would applaud you. But the strip is also painful in it’s relativity even if the industry is not the same.

  12. shootzee says:

pam, heheh. believe me, i’ve wanted to stuff my headshots down many throats of people in this business – and not just my agents!!!

kukki – yeah it does appear that way onscreen, but fortunately, the pink is toned down on the printed version.

aerie, aw, shucks… thanks for checking my strip (and me!) out!!!

tabi, glad to give you the giggles – especially after a hard day’s work. hope you can relax a bit this memorial day weekend!

  13. Ta says:

Um, wow. Hate to be the shallow one here but oh my god you are really really good-looking. I mean… uncommonly so. It caught me by surprise. Wow.

Oh yeah, and I like your comics.

  14. Andrew Tinker says:

Heh. Makes me glad I’m just a lowly aspiring script writer and voice actor. Guess what two fields don’t require headshots?
But, anyways, nice one. Very, very dashing.

  15. Keeli says:

    @Ta: I totally thought the same thing too… >.>.

The comic is fantastic, as well! Glad I found it via GWS.

  16. admin says:

ta, i’m blushing right through the screen. you’ve totally made my day. ;)

andrew tinker, heheh. well, i’d love to do some screenwriting and voiceover work, too! i find all these professions so much fun, i’d be a happy guy if i succeed at any of them. oh, and thanks for the “dashing”!

keeli, again, i’m blushing. and again, my day has become twice as bright, thanks to your comment. glad you found your way over here from GWS – jeez, i totally need to buy danielle dinner or something as thanks for all you awesome new readers. :)

  17. narel says:

Dude, you are so multi-threat! Acting, comicking (I just read through the archives and was highly amused- got here through GWS), singing (yeah Pippin! Such a bizarre and fun show)… do you dance too? I definitely like the new headshot better than the others you have up here. The fade out/blurring effect really makes the eye travel immediately to your face- and eyes. (damn. you have *fantastic* eyes. to echo several of the other posters, you are *extremely* handsome. Quite.)
It’s been six years since I had headshots taken. I should probably redo those..

  18. Julie says:

I definitely relate. I like your headshot, except for I think it contains more than your head. That’s probably the norm, though.

  19. Tiana says:

I wish I was an agent. I’d cast you like mad.

Anyway, great comic. I read through the entire archive (of course, directed by GWS), and I LOVE your art style. I will be keeping up. :]

  20. Tiana says:

Also, by “agent” I totally meant “casting director.”

Agent just sounds SO much cooler.

  21. Shay says:

Hi, got pointed here from GWS and have to say that you’re gorgeous. ^_^

  22. shootzee says:

narel, aww shucks, shucks, shucks. seriously, you’re gonna spoil me with all the kind words, but they’re much appreciated! yeah, i’m liking this new headshot, too. let’s hope it gets me some work!!! also, know that there was a lot of great lighting and photography and “hollywood magic” going on in that photo (don’t look at my normal snapshots!) but i’ll take “gorgeous” anyway. ;)

julie, thanks! some people do tighter shots so it’s just their “head” but i know at least one agency who uses those really close shots as targets for their dart boards! not kidding.

tiana, i WISH you were an agent OR a casting director so you could cast me “like mad!” get to it!!! heheheh. thanks for checking JEFBOT out and i’m glad you’re on board. and you’re right, “agent” sounds like some international spy stuff could be going on. much cooler.

shay, i’m happy you’re here. and i’m happy you think i’m gorgeous. :)

  23. Tabi says:

    *smiles*

Thanks. And I will defintely be keeping up with this…

…and maybe it’ll inspire me to take my own slice of life to webcomic format instead of just sitting in doodles around on paper. XD

  24. Lor says:

I like the new headshot, too. Your head leaps off the page.

  25. Maz says:

Wow, your new haircut makes you look amazing, and you were pretty good looking before. Kudos on all the hard work!

  26. Shanna says:

I think the headshot is great! You are really cute!
-From someone old enough to be your… not too old aunt or something. ;)

  27. hi
    1gy8yrfgflrxnrq5
    good luck

  28. Nicki says:

oh, wow. you’re really cute, lol!
I just got new head shots yesterday, and i know the feeling :(
    Great comic, btw!

  29. Keegan says:

I’ve done the same thing with a hair cut.

  30. Puck says:

I must honestly say you are the most attractive webcomic artist I’ve seen yet. -cough-

    Nice shot!

  31. Dannii G says:

    your HAWT =) =3

  32. shootzee says:

just revisited this page and was blown away by all these flattering comments that i somehow missed! thanks, all! just got new headshots (i’ll post ‘em soon). hope they work out better than the last. :)

  33. Mearcyn says:

This comment will be two years old but I still wanted to say something :) I’m liking the comic, really am.
