JEFBOT.45_Bad Mail

on phone with momLuckily, my mom doesn’t forward many emails but she does get a lot of crazy stuff sent to her on a daily basis. Last week I showed her the magic of Snopes.com, which I pretty much check out whenever I get any story emailed to me, even if it’s from a family member or friend and even if I know it to be true.

  1. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Jefbot, this is soooooo funny. We can all relate to those questionable emails. Although, I am in the process of transferring Count Wilbur Reynolds of Yorkshire’s $1.2 million into my checking account. In the meantime, can I borrow twenty bucks? ;-) Fantastic job, man. Oh and congrats on being nominated on Joystiq.com!

What I don’t get, is what is it with Americans and bank account numbers? I mean, what can you actually do with it? Nothing.

Here, it’s common practice to make a direct bank transfer over the internet to someone else’s bank account, which he/she has published on his/her homepage. If i have to rent an airsoft rifle for a game, because my pistols don’t cut it in non-CQB conditions, but don’t have any cash on me, he gives me his bank account number and I transfer him the money in the evening, from home.

If someone could clear it up for me, why is it so terribly unsafe to publish your bank account number, I’d be happy.

This weblog appears to recieve a good ammount of visitors. How do you get traffic to it? It gives a nice individual spin on things. I guess having something authentic or substantial to say is the most important thing.

I tried to post a statement previously, however it hasn’t shown up. I think your spam filter may possibly be broken

  17. Superb weblog! I really adore the way it is easy on my personal eyes and also the information are well written. I am asking yourself how i might be notified each time a new publish has been made. I’ve activated to your feed which must have the desired effect! Possess a good day time!
