JEFBOT.04_The Styling Cap

the styling capWow, I can’t believe we’re on number four already. I’ve had so much fun this week you guys, seriously.

So this strip was the first one I pencilled, colored and inked without giving up in frustration half-way through. Kind of the proof of concept for the whole webcomic, really. It just didn’t feel like a “#1″ so I waited until now to upload it. It makes me chuckle, though I concede it may only be funny to me. Anyway, this is pretty much my routine every morning if I have somewhere to be.

okay, the problem seems to have been fixed. i would put an update on the post but i’m afraid it would mess things up again. basically, i put up the strip and post last night around 12:30 and thought all was well. i checked my email this morning and had a bunch of messages saying the comments link was busted. to fix the problem, i re-published the post, but something was wrong with blogger, and it has taken about an hour for it to finally work. anyway, it’s working now, so comment away! i’m really interested to see what you think of this one.

i don’t understand how the styling cap works – please explain in more detail – you just put your nappy hair in the cap and it goes straight – where do you buys the cap? Please explain! thx

  9. shootzee says:

john k – heh. i was wondering if anyone would notice.

anonymous – the cap cannot be bought – it must be won through combat.

  10. Mitch says:

Ahh, I have heard of the mystical styling cap before. To see it in action was … beyond words. And I have to admit, I thought you were covered in popcorn- something the magical styling cap also took care of upon removal. hehe

  11. shootzee says:

no one knows the limits of its power. hair straightening and popcorn removal are but two of them.

  14. Leanna says:

This is how I “brush” my four-year-old’s hair before school. I don’t know what I am going to do now that spring weather is here.

  15. [...] to experiment on – and I was happy with the results. I’ve documented (way back in JEFBOT.04) just how unruly my hair can be, especially upon waking or after getting it wet, and the biggest [...]

just started reading this comic, thank goodness there’s such a backlog for me to catch up on. I know this mythical “styling cap” you portray. mine was a super insulated bright orange winter facemask/hat. my girl friend hated that i could shower, twist my hair up and stuff it under the cap, and twenty minutes later my hair naturally looked like what she spent and hour trying to achieve (and failed, sorry hon!)
